Breanna Deis is a two-spirit Dene artist based in Vancouver B.C. Deis primarily makes jewelry and is well known for her beadwork. She uses beading as a way to reconnect and reclaim her Indigeneity. She is inspired by art, nature, the female form, and incorporating traditional techniques into a contemporary aesthetic.

Body-ody Earrings, 2021
This piece combines traditional beadwork using glass seed beads and the female silhouette made from polymer clay to make a powerful statement piece. Many contemporary Indigenous communities value modesty due to the impacts of colonialism and the patriarchy. Deis's work fights against this and promotes female sexuality.

This pair of earrings from the same collection uses the rainbow and bondage to further promote female sexuality and bring attention to the LGBTQ+ community.
